We’re always looking for more help, and here are a few things that you could do. Most of what goes on in the development takes place at the Project Page.
Translations
With every release there are new strings that need to be translated. If you would like to contribute some translations, go to the Launchpad Translations Page and start translating in your language.
We need people who want to contribute translations regularly. If you want to do this, please join our Announcement Mailing List where you will be informed before each release so that you can keep your translation up to date.
Testing/Bug Reporting
We need testers to find any existing issues in ExpoSong. If you find a problem, report it to theĀ Issue Tracker. If you have questions, contact our Mailing List.
Designs
We also need some artists! Here are our current needs.
- Design a Splash Screen for the next version
- Design Icons for Lyrics/Text/Image Presentations
- Submit background images for a new background pack
- Find Inconsistencies in the User Interface and report them
- Suggest changes to the Interface
Packaging
We need people who create packages for all the various Operating Systems. We can do it ourselves, but it takes a lot of time which we could invest to write cool new features.
You don’t need programming skills to be a packager, but you should be an experienced user. Just contact us on the Mailing List if you are interested.
Marketing
Related to packaging, we could use anyone to tell news sites and update download sites whenever we create a new release. If you can copy and post, and optionally, have good writing abilities, we would love for you to get the word out about ExpoSong.
Simply telling others about our application is a great help, and easy to do. Getting the word out about an application is a burden on new open-source projects. If you are using, or know someone who is using, leave us a note on our Testimonials forum.
Share, or like our page on Facebook.
You can also put our link on a website. Here’s an image with some code to add to your website:

<a href=’http://exposong.org’><img src=’http://exposong.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/es-button1.png’ alt=’ExpoSong’ /></a>
Programming
Last but not least we are looking for Python/GTK Developers to help out fixing bugs or writing new features. Start out by submitting patches to the Issue Tracker.
Check out our Project Page at Google Code, and have a look at the Issues and the Wiki to get started. Contact us on the Mailing List with questions.
